Creature Pendant II

Materials: Copper
Dimensions: Length 8 x width 3.1 x depth 3 cm

From my Earth series. The scars are a reminder that change is a painful process, but they are also what confer the metal new beauty and new life as a piece of art.

I grew up in Italy, where I soon discovered I fitted in like a square peg in a round hole. I moved to the UK at the age of 20 and graduated in English Literature. I have past lives as a trained editor, a disgruntled restaurant manager and an elated archaeologist. But art was my hidden calling and jewellery my Number 42.

Making is fundamental to my personal and spiritual growth. I always say that any investigation into the production of a piece is very much about "making me" as well as making new work. I am also very interested in the calm and the discipline that can be learnt through making and I like to constantly channel my generally instinctive and eruptive creative inner self through contemplative, challenging and process-intensive work.
